Finally, a nice, sunny, springlike day.
We can all stop kicking puppies and throwing telephones at unsuspecting sales clerks and blaming it on our seasonal affective disorder. We can put away our woolies and snowsuits and boots and drag out the SPF 100 and flip flops. We can forage for the grill in the garage and have that discount hot dog and 'possum sausage BBQ we've been dying to host.
Sweet, sweet spring.
Now we can absorb all of the beauty and wonderment that the world has to offer, like this pretty red birdie.
"Hey hey red birdie! Tweet, tweet!"
And then...we can snap back to reality, look down and see the disgusting river of garbage that has been freed from its snow prison all these months.
"Bah! I'm done with this toothpaste! Where should I put the box? Hmmm...I know! I'll set it adrift on this river of runoff so that it may be reunited with its cardboard brethren someday in cardboard heaven. Bye-bye, sweet Colgate. Take Mr. coffee cup with you and Send pictures!"
I was totally looking for my rubber gloves and here they are! Sanitary, schmanitary. I've got some probing to do.
Oh yeah...and damn the litterbugs.
Lovely, isn't it ?
We too have sunshine today. But I'm almost afraid to say it loudly for fear of tomorrow being a day like Monday in which we had hail the size of dimes. And of course this was all happening while I was unloading groceries. I'm pretty sure I have some internal bleeding because of it.
We found a few odd things on our lawn when the snow melted. Most of them have blown away by now, thank goodness.
So you only found the one glove right? Aha - I knew ol' Thriller Michael J was a litterer.
We're having a cool, cloudy, rainy day. The kind of day that I love! Although, I would prefer it to be about 10-15 degrees warmer. soon enough, soon enough.
Freaking raining here today. And I just washed my car last week... which is REALLY recent if you consider that the last time I washed it was summer. Shiza!
Oh, and excellent DMB refference. :)
One of the nicest things about having a "REAL" Winter is that it makes you appreciate Spring that much more. Growing up in California I've always been sorta like, Oh look, more sunshine, whoopty-doo.
Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy, too, as do random recitations of John Denver lyrics. I love me some John Denver.
That's were my lost coffee cup went off to.
Ah, life in the midwest. Ain't it grand?
This is what it looks like right now where I live.
So, yeah, spring is here. Although it's very windy. Yuk!
We had winter in the morning and spring by the afternoon...love Colorado! I have a latex glove story today...I wondered what happen to the other glove!
There is currently a dirty, wet peanut butter jar in my driveway. It almost makes me miss the snow.
(No, it doesn't. But I still don't think I should have to pick that thing up.)
Let me know if Jimmy Hoffa floats by on the river of melting snow.
Enjoy spring! If I am correct, in Minnesota you will be having winter again in about 3 weeks, right?
I just LOVE the Spring part of Spring, but I really hate the trashy side of spring.
You crack me up though...
I am jealous of the pretty red bird.
He would totally distract me from the garbage floating down the street.
But i am kind of a flake like that.
I love the cardinal! Happy Spring, indeed!
We've got leftover winter trash here, too(or maybe its that people are so excited for Spring, they decided to celebrate by throwing their garbage out the window?). In fact, my in-laws got into town last night and it was the first thing they commented on- apparently this isn't a problem on the east coast?
I've decided not to bother subscribing to the newspaper, as my neighbor's always blows over from his BURN BARREL. Then there's all the soda cans and bottles tossed onto our property by drivers on our road. Nice. Trying to help me recycle, I guess.
I've heard that bears will eat tooth-paste (ala pigs and milk cartons). Shaving-cream, too. Not sure whether to believe it, though.
Is that photo of the sky because you didn't want the dirty snow bumming out your sunshine? ;)
Enjoy Georgia O'Keefe, enjoy.
Pecisely why autumn wins my Favorite Season Award.
That bandanna rocks, well done WM.
Looks like Spring in the Rockys.
