Three days ago I got Mawley, a small female dachshund in need of a home. I can't stop posting photos of her. And she's making the male Chihuahua up the street, who comes visiting my doggy world several times a week and think he rules this place for cuteness, seriously upset. Today Mawley stole the Chihuahua's throne in my house. A grave indignity and I've no doubt he's home now plotting her demise.

Bubs is great looking.

Three years later, and my cats are JUST coming around to having a dog snout stuck up their butts every time they venture into the kitchen. Stripey, the cat who is actually bigger than the dog, seems to like getting his ears bitten by the puppy for about 45 seconds before he turns around and smacks the dog across the face with an open claw. Awww, animal love, nothing beats it. The funny part is I often wake up to them all snuggled together at the end of the bed, when they think I'm not looking.

The cats still rule. Bubs will find out either the easy way or the hard way.

Carolyn- He's about 2 years old- we got him from Midwest Animal Rescue. He's so well behaved & a total snuggle bug. The last 2 nights he's slept all night cuddled up to me.
And, he's a total cliche'- the only time he's barked AT ALL is at...wait for it...

...the mailman.

Well behaved? I'll trade you two badly behaved dogs for one well-behaved one!

Since I love dogs more than most people, I am very excited for you and can't wait for some Bubs tales. Ha, see what I did there? Tales - tails? Nevermind, I'm over-caffeinated.

My dog doesn't give a shit about the mailman. The UPS man or the Fed Ex man are another story all together. She hears that diesel truck and starts barking her 60 pound head off. *sigh* someday, I'll get my packages.

I'm thinking that your new pooch has some Terrier in his background ! His little face, especially his eye's look just like my ex-girlfriend's dawg, which was a rat-terrier mix. Little 'Scout' was one of the smartest and most "Human-sensitive" doggies I have ever met.
That lil' dog wasn't real fond of all the cats who lived outdoors at my house, but when we would bring one inside, he would behave himself, (Usually !). One time I had him outside on his leash, tied to the picnic table on a sunny day, when I happened to look out the window, he was on top of the biggest Tomcat, humping his brains out ! LoL, The cat seemed to be enjoying it too, so I guessed they were "Cross-species" Homosexuals ! ??

I wish I was as good looking as that dog.

Herm- Ours is a humper too- he tried to hump our kitty, Pooter, and she let him know that girlfriend was havin' none o' that. He's a mutt- he could have anything in him- terrier wouldn't surprise me.

Bubs- I totally thought of you when we named him! I was hoping you'd be flattered and not offended. He is VERY good looking, smart and a total lover, if that helps.

Yeah! What a cutie...I knew you'd melt and do it. I can't begin to tell you the funnies that happened when we added a dog to the kitty pad. Trust me, you'll get more, "What on EARTH were you THINKING, woman?!!!" looks from your cats than you can imagine...and you'll be laughing your ass off.

Well hello Bubs. You are quite cute. Why if my daughter got ahold of you she'd have you in doll clothes and stuffed in a purse in no time.

P.S. The first 2 weeks we had Casey (our rescue mutt 1/2 golden retriever 1/2 lab). She was so chill.

Then she got comfortable with us and showed us her true colors. Which is that she is a watchdog. So it's kinda good...except for the fact that she sits at the top of the stairs and barks at anything . Whether it's a neighbors car pulling up or not. So yeah.

but then she makes up for that by the fact that she can talk and sing. I'm not kidding she totally says I love you.
