Around, and around, and around, and around, and around...

So I got it in my head that I want- no, I NEED- a spirograph set.
Anyone remember those? You used the circle dealies and a pen to go around and around and make these sorts of designs?
It was the most mindless of mindless entertainment when I was a kid.

I freaking loved it.

This is a picture I found that is the same exact set we had. The cool thing about this set is that you could "build" your own spirograph track and make all sorts of goofy-shaped designs.

So if you happen to have one in your basement/attic that you are itching to get rid of, I'm your gal. Maybe we can broker a trade of some sort.
Maybe a Planet of the Apes lunchbox for it? (Yes, I have one.)
How about a loaf of pumpkin bread?
How about a hug?

My absolute favorite when I was a kid. I haven't seen them lately, but at Borders a year or so ago, I bought 2 compact sets for my son and nephew, who were both 5 at the time, and they were huge hits...I can't believe I didn't get myself one. It was a very cute red and blue plastic box with lid that swiveled on a hinge, and contained in it was 25 or so small sheets of paper, 6 small colored pencils, and 6 disks. The whole thing is the size of the original iPod. So go to Borders and check out the section with the toys and games; you might get lucky!

Fran- that's o.k, I still love you.

Patti- I know- ebay is the answer. I try to stay away from evilbay as once I start...
I'll end up with not just a spirograph, but also a knockoff Coach purse, a flower vase made of teeth, six pairs of irregular pantyhose and an incontinent puppy named Puddles. I am weak with the evilbay.
Maybe this is just the reason I need to go back though...

Stacie- Why I adore you, toots.

cdp- I will be looking at Borders tomorrow- thanks for the tip.

OOOOH! I LOVED that toy! I think my grandparents actually have the one pictured... I'll check, but I won't be going home until Christmas. You'll probably find one before then.

I always wondered what the E stood for! Now I know...Evilbay. Very funny. How right you are!! I have many items that I bought that were going to be cool handmade lamps. Maybe we'll trade the lunch box for those lamp parts and I'll start BlogBay.

I found one in my basement while sorting out some of our boxes of craft items. It is a travel set which must have cost under $5 due to my rule for buying toys "If it's not your birthday and it's not under $5 you are not getting it. If you want it email me your address and I will mail it out to you. Email is TreesNSnow@yahoo.com
